Oxford Geek Night 16
Wednesday 17 February 2010
7.30pm
Upstairs at the Jericho Tavern
Oxford Geek Nights offer a chance for web developers and designers in the local area to get together, share their skills and talk about new ideas, techniques and technologies.
Each OGN consists of two keynote talks of 15 minutes each. There are also frenetic bursts of socialising, sometimes adverts for other local groups, but always interspersed with two sets of 5-minute-long microslot sessions.
Following feedback, the OGN16 keynotes will begin at eight o’clock, a full half hour earlier. The rest of the lineup will similarly start and finish that little bit earlier. This should be more convenient for those having to head to homes outside the ring road.
Keynotes
Keynote speakers are invited to talk at Oxford Geek Nights. OGN16 will feature:
- Chris Thorpe, founder of Jaggeree
- Andrew Katz, lawyer at Moorcrofts Corporate Law and open-source specialist
Microslots.
Confirmed microslots for OGN16 are:
- Dark Ages 2.0, by Simon Hawkins
- Subj3ct – Making the Semantic Web Work, by Kal Ahmed
- Creating a graduate jobs and advice website with Drupal, by Johan Gant
